a small confession

I'm not sure what you'll all think of me after I tell you this, but here goes. I logged into my credit union account every day (for a week) after paying off the credit card and auto loan just to bask in the glow of the creamy goodness zero balance. There, I said it!

  2. Congrats on the zero debt success so far.
    I never bothered with the whole credit rating thing right from the very start of my adult life.
    I always saw it for the scam that it was. So far, I have been successful in my life even though card people always try to scare me with "what if's" that never happened in my 40 years of existence. I bought 3 cars cash, never paid installment on anything.

    1. I never bothered with the credit rating thing when I started out also. This is probably why it was so horrible back then. LOL!

    2. ODD? If so, you have company. I waited for a couple of cycles to officially close paid off accounts and cut up the cards, just so I could receive zero balance, zero interest statements from those creditors (and yes, I knew it cost them a lot, not me, for them to print and mail them!!!). Just a little pay back for their nasty fees and charges.

      Keep up the good work. Debt free is in sight!

  3. There has been little so satisfying as paying off balances. I've done the same thing.

    1. Did you also do the victory dance around your home in your underwear too? That's a very important part of the ritual which keeps any new debt from being incurred.

  4. I work for the Federal Gov't and we no longer have the Civil Service Retirement System... but... what we do have is a thing called TSP. It is a savings acct that we can't fully access until we are 62.

    I am about to tell you my guilty pleasure.... I look at it at least once a week and I do math about how much money I could spend per month to van-dwell even if I NEVER get my Social Security or my minimal little retirement fund check or my IRA money.... or anything else. Heck, I could drop out of site right now (if I were 62) and not hurt too bad.

    So, yeah... maybe we are a little creepy but it is better than never looking at our finances because we live in fear of our future. I say... bask... dance... pat yourself on the back (or wherever you like most)... be JOY!

    And, I will see you at the RTR!

    PS. Don't delete this one. Okay? {{hugs, man}}
